PROFILE GRADUATE OF
A graduate profile can be defined as the role a graduate can play in a specific field of expertise or career after completing their studies. It can also be defined as a description of the character, attitudes, knowledge, and skills of college graduates that are expected to develop during their studies, in order to equip them for further study or employment. A graduate profile is the answer to the question "what kind of graduates will this study program produce?" and "What roles" can graduates play in society (outcomes).
The profile is determined based on the results of a study of the job market needs required by the government and the business world and industry, as well as the needs in developing science and technology in the future, which are compiled by taking into account input from scientific associations such as IGI and P3GI, so that the profile of Geography Education graduates can be determined as Prospective Geography Educators, Ecotourism Development Specialists, and Responsible and Environmentally Concerned Regional Disaster Risk Analysts. Therefore, the profile of Geography Education PS graduates includes the character of graduates and the profile of graduate roles.
CHARACTER GRADUATE OF
Upholding humanitarian values in carrying out duties based on religion, morals and ethics
Have skills and be able to apply 7 “college” soft skills (communication skill, organisation skill, leadership, logic, effort, group skills, ethics) in the world of work and society
Have knowledge and be able to explain the basic concepts of geography and specialize in ecotourism development, disaster risk analysis and care for the environment.
ROLE GRADUATE OF
Main Role Teacher / Educator
In the field of work (skills), able to disseminate, transform and develop science, especially geography through education/teaching, research and community service. As an educator, a creative and innovative learning facilitator who educates with a good mastery of Geography material, has the ability to use information technology to keep up with the development of Geography science and its learning. Able to analyze the characteristics of the material (content knowledge), the characteristics of students and choose approaches, strategies, models, methods, and assessments based on the theory and principles of active, innovative, creative, effective and enjoyable education in every geography learning.
In the knowledge that needs to be mastered, able to analyze the relationship between physical aspects in the geosphere for geography learning and research; able to analyze the relationship between human aspects in the geosphere for geography learning and research; able to analyze the earth as a system with various interactions, interconnections and implications for decision making in the context of geography literacy; able to explain the concept and method of obtaining data and information on the geosphere using geospatial technology in school learning and geography research; able to analyze regional characteristics and zoning (regionalization) based on the principles and approaches of geography; able to analyze environmental resources effectively and efficiently to support sustainable development and find solutions to environmental problems and disasters.
In the managerial aspect, able to make appropriate decisions in the context of solving problems in their field of expertise, based on the results of information and data analysis; able to manage learning independently; able to maintain and develop networks with supervisors, colleagues, peers both inside and outside their institution; able to be responsible for the achievement of group work results and supervise and evaluate the completion of work assigned to workers under their responsibility; able to carry out a self-evaluation process for work groups under their responsibility, and able to manage learning independently; able to plan, implement and evaluate/assess Geography learning by utilizing various science and technology-based learning resources.
Special Role Ecotourism Development and Environmental Care Specialist
In the field of work (skills), with a basic knowledge of geography, a geography education graduate can manage and develop a tourist attraction through empowering local communities, preserving the natural and cultural environment and can provide benefits to the surrounding community.
